Synopsis: |
|
Based closely on acclaimed Irish writer Brendan Behan's autobiographical novel of the same name. Borstal Boy highlights the struggle of a young 16 year old IRA boy, arrested on a bombing mission in World War 2 England, and his subsequent imprisonment in a young offenders institute. Brendan is forced to re-evaluate his feelings and beliefs as he attempts to live with a group of boys he has always percieved to be his greatest enemy.
Danny plays Charlie, a fellow inmate who befriends Brendan. Once again Danny shows a remarkable talent for character acting with many moving, inspired and sometimes hilarious moments.
